Jack Thompson
I have very little to say about the matter or Jack Thompson and video game violence. The man appears to be uninformed and sensationalistic. But honestly, his actions are almost an argument AGAINST his own stance, they're so poorly constructed.
That said, I found this series of interviews very interesting, as well as fairly impartial. The above link is to Mr. Thompson's interview, but on the left menu are links to others. The author of VG Cats, and Ctrl+Alt+Del, the site director for PlanetDoom, owner of Halo.Bungie.org were all interviewed as well. My favorite, however, was the one from Hal Halpin, president of the IEMA.
My only complaint about the series, is, ironically, that Mr. Thompson is the only proponent of his viewpoint that was interviewed. Couldn't they find someone competent to argue his side at all? Not that I agree with him, but surely they could find ONE person to interview who could at least put together a credible argument. Mr. Thompson was the only one interviewed that argued that video games caused violence, really, and his responses were exactly what we've come to expect from him. Whereas on the other side of the argument, there were FIVE interviews, all of which were had a professional tone, or at least intelligent. It's a good idea, but it comes across as slanted journalism with Mr. Thompson's side being so poorly represented. >.>;;
