Events for today:

Get my picture taken with Warren Buffet, CEO of the company that owns where I work, who the second richest person in the US. Yay morale boosting events at work. I also will get icecream.

Get a phone call saying my grandmother has fallen. The person who found her thinks she may have a broken hip. I refuse to believe this until we hear from an actual doctor, but...I'm worried. This means she absolutely can not live by herself anymore. Which means she has to live in a nursing home. Which means she will have to loose the dog. Anyone who's ever actaully met my grandmother knows the dog I speak of - it's the one that pees on you when you look at it crosseyed, the one that is fat and spoiled and no one, including myself who loves all dogs, particularly likes. The one that is my grandmother's sole joy in life. Even if she's not that seriously hurt, and god knows she could be...this is very very bad news.

.... and now I have to get back to getting ready for work because I also get to work overtime today. x.x

*huggles* If you guys wind up having to take care of that verminous creature, I won't mention it to anybody if you have her humanely put down. Because ugh.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother, but a you said, let's hear the truth from a doctor first. I'll hope for the best for her and your family... esp. if you have to take care of her dog @.@;;

Good news: She has no fractures...they're still testing to see if she had a stroke or a heart attack or something. But basicly this just confirms something we've suspected for a long time.

The bad news: She really really should not live alone. So my mom is currently looking into assisted living, since she is adamantly against a nursing home. She's not crazy about the assisted living idea, either, actually. But the places my mom's looking at she could keep the dog.

Of course, at the prices such a thing would cost, and what we suspect she has in savings means she could only afford to do so for a year or two, then would be forced to go into a medicare nursing home. Myself, I'm not too sure she's going to live long enough for that to be an issue - unless the way she takes care of herself changes, and soon.

In more lighthearted news: I got to stand for almost thirty seconds next to someone else having their hand shook by Warren Buffet, then not eat the catered golden chick, since I can't even eat their mashed potatoes. On the other hand, the reduced fat dilly bar wasn't bad. And we were slow for the first time in months. Yay everyone thinking we're closed for the bank holiday. XD
