May. 12th, 2004 12:42 amAnd again it has been weeks since I have posted anything here. Apparently this posting in LJ thing is going to be monthly. >_> Oh well. I wish I could say I've got excitement and such to tell ya about, but this is not the case. Which, actually, is probably a good thing.
Mi Madre is doing well. She still has hair, but we went to look for a wig for her anyway, since it's just a matter of time. ...I never quite realized before how hard it is to find a wig that doesn't look like one. On the other hand, the place that sells wigs also sells scarves and hats, since apparently those without hair on their heads loose a lot of body heat and thus need to wear head coverings, even when asleep. ...did I mention the scarves? Very nifty. n_n I got a green one with a leaf and vine pattern to show solidarity. Mother/daughter bonding, yeah, that's it. Actually, I lie. It was just damn cool.
I've been oekaki'ng again. I know I'm not actually that good at it, but...it's just a lot of fun. n_n I've found that if I draw something for someone, I can frequently bring a smile to their face. This makes me happy. And tis also a better angst outlet than ranting at those unfortunate souls willing to put up with my whining.
Work...does not suck as much as it did a while ago, despite getting to talk to more people reporting fatal accidents. Either I'm getting better at this, or I've become numb to the abuse. Either way, go me.
Julie, one of my best friends who moved to the other side of the county will be moving again very soon...like next week. This time to a state adjacent to the bfe place she is now, but this time near her love interest. In the meantime, she'll be in town again this weekend. n_n We ~must~ hang out, I misses her muchly...and she's talking about getting married by this time next year. O.o! Must arrange to meet him before then, & make sure he's not a creep...though I've already heard enough second hand to be fairly sure this will not be a bad thing. She seems happy, at least.
Let's see...was there anything else? Oh yes. If you haven't already, watch Tokyo Godfathers. Tis an uberspiffykeen, off kilter flick that takes place at xmas, and yet is not coming out during the xmas season. Both funny and heartwarming. n_n
