Good call on the electrical system. I might be inclined to double check my plumbing and its insulation as well. Hopefully the previous owners used a real live licensed plumber instead of DIY stuff. If there's an air conditioner or central heating system, now is the slow time for HVAC companies if you want to get that checked out as well, tuned up for spring.
