1) Total number of books owned: 257 in my room, including manga and comic collections, but not including books on tape/cd. Add 19 if those count. Subtract 30-35 or so if you don't want to include artbooks, comic or manga. This is broken down mostly into fantasy and sci fi novels, but also several books on mythology, 5 or so dnd books, half a dozen technical books, a spanish/english dictionary, and a copy of "The Book" given to me by my greatgrandmother before she got alzheimers(sp?) and died. I'm not sure whether I should count all my copies of LotR since if you include books on tape I've got 3 complete copies in my room alone. x.x;; Oh, and an estimated 30 or so magazines scattered around. If I wander over to the living room, and count the books that are MINE (and not say, my father's) then add 32 books, all except 3 of which are Terry Pratchett. n___n;

2) The last book I bought: DnD: Libris Mortis. Yes, I WILL get around to converting Edith's character sheet to 3.0 someday. XD Slightly before that was Bruce Sterling's Distraction and collection of short stories Burning Chrome, at the same time as Vonda N. McIntyre's The Moon and the Sun.
3) The last book I read: See above. Actually I'm 4/5 through The Moon and the Sun, but I've finished the other two - it's a very odd book.

4) Five books that mean a lot to me that I really liked: I hate to admit it, but Anne McCaffery's DragonFlight was a huge influence on me, since it got me into fantasy. Due to my packrat nature, I still have almost every book she ever wrote. Ursula K. LeGuin's The Word for World is Forest is short, but recomended to any and all who read The Wizard of Earthsea. Mary Karr's The Liars Club is a very moving autobiography, and I got to meet the author AND get my picture taken with her when I got the sequal, Cherry autographed. <3 Robin McKinley's The Hero and the Sword was a favorite growing up, and words can not express how happy I was when I discovered The Blue Sword. Anything and everything Douglas Adams is marvelous, and I again have two copies of some of his books due to I have a collection of his...I'm mentioning Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Service by name only because of the art of zen driving. Read them all. I command you! <3 I could go on, but five is the specified number. n_n;;

5) Tag 5 people and have them fill this out in their ljs: I don't think I have that many people on my friends list in the first place. Screw chains, if you want to fill this out, you've probably already stolen it from someone else anyway.

I am corrected. That's what I get for doing this first thing when I wake.
