So I worked today. In a call center that services mainly Texas. During a football game. BOOORRRIIIINNNGGG! I know and care to know almost nothing about the sport of football (not to mention most other professional sports). And yet one can't help but know when a game is on, because there is a 2-3 hour period where we get...maybe 2 calls an hour? If that.

So I was bored, and reading a newspaper someone had brought in and left. And the Dallas Morning News had a series of 3 articles featuring obesity in the USA. And one of the articles was about the booming business of extra large coffins. As in, coffins for people who weigh over 300 lb. This was in the front page, mind. I stopped reading the newspaper after that. O.o

They say if you learn one new thing every day, you're doing good. Here's what I learned today: Footballs come in two basic varieties: The kind with white bands, and without. The ones with the bands are for college league, and without is for professional play. The bands mark where the 'end' of the ball is, regarding stuff like first downs (is that a form of scoring? I'm not sure.) In pro, the end of the ball is where it counts.

...

Why did I get out of bed this morning again?
