I don't even have the costume designed yet, but I'm thinking about steampunk weaponry. I'm thinking a gas gun.

The "handle" is this with very little modification other than paint. The backpack will be much harder to find parts for. Any idea where to find a clear plastic tube over a foot in diameter?

** edit **
For tingirl, here's my idea for the wagon-hat. n_n

Home D-

Wait, clear? Shit. I have no idea.

I need to start playing FPSes at you. There have been a maddening number of really slick looking guns made up for the avalanche of games humanity has produced so far.

let's see.. Start here.

If you go to that page, look at the second-to-last entry on the list. That's what your drawing makes me think you're going for. More or less. Probably slap on a steam engine for good measure ^_^

Shipping/packaging stores, or framing joints, maybe. Big ass tubes are used to ship things like posters.

Also, we still going as Oregon Trail? 'Cause I'll die of dysentery, you just try me.

What IS it with that one farging site? TVTropes: it giveth and taketh away. But it knows about every single bit of pop culture I have ever ever asked it for.

Also, sweet foma, toy oxen will be thumb -biting cute.

I've your looking for some inspiration for Steampunk gadgets and gear, I can point you to the page for one of the big artists for Privateer Press' Warmachine setting, based off of the old D&D 3.5 RPG setting in the Iron Kingdoms. http://cwalton73.deviantart.com/ Walton has some brilliant mechanical designs and costumes he creates for the setting and while it's a combination of magic and steam punk science, if you're looking for ideas it might be worth a shot.

I should mention, for Steampunk, the steamfashion and budgetsteam communities here on LJ. 'Cause I'm a member, and all.

Oh, honey. You thought TVtropes would ruin your life...

There are communities on LJ for everything, and double plus so for Steampunk. But Steamfashion and Budget Steam are actually on topic and fairly low traffic (2-5 posts a day, generally).

After an initial viewing of your designs...

I've come to realize that the Ghostbusters are using futuristic Steam Punk technology XD

I'm serious - that really did look like a Proton Pack to me XD

Looking forward to seeing the end result of this project ^_^
